Why SHC was founded
Seniors housing in Canada is delivered by thousands of organisations, regulated by thirteen provincial and territorial governments, and funded through a patchwork of federal, provincial, municipal and private sources. Strong provincial associations exist in several provinces, but no national body spoke for the sector as a whole, tracked its performance across the country, or connected the non-profit, co-operative, Indigenous and private providers who share the same challenges.
